SHILLONG: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya in collaboration with the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong conducted a half-day orientation programme for various political parties of Meghalaya on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, here from 12:00 PM onwards on Friday.
A detailed and thorough presentation on the functioning of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and the VVPAT was made, followed by practical session on the functioning of the various components of the EVM including the VVPAT. The session included mock poll and verification of the slips dispensed by the VVPAT, wherein, the representatives of the various political parties participated.
The session was attended by the representatives of the following political parties: lndian National Congress, Bharatiyalanata Party, Nationalist Congress Party, United Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Front.
