Meet
Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides will host the National Tribal meet for Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers at its state headquarters from January 9-13 wherein about 300 participants from over 20 states will be attending. As part of the meet various activities such as intergration games, slogan competition, village games, display of arts and cultural heritage and tribal areas, youth forum will be conducted.

Chief Secretary, Y. Tsering on Monday handed over Punctuality Excellence Awards to 32 Government employees in the Meghalaya Secretariat in appreciation of the outstanding punctuality displayed by them during the year 2016. They were handed cash awards and certificates at a programme organised by the Secretariat Administration Department at the Conference Room, Main Secretariat.

The Raj Bhavan will be kept open for the general public on the eve of Republic Day and on Republic Day, i.e. January 25 and 26 in the evening. It will open on these days from 4:30 pm to 7 pm.
