SHILLONG: The resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, New Delhi on Monday hosted a lunch reception on account of the 46th Meghalaya Day
The guest list included Ambassadors from Embassies, Secretaries, Joint secretaries and other Senior officials from different Ministries and Bhawans, both serving and retired IAS & IPS officers of Assam-Meghalaya Cadre, Meghalaya Residents at Delhi, etc.
Altogether, around 400 guests attended the reception.
There was a display of Meghalaya’s ethnic food prepared by the team “Flavours of Meghalaya” which included Wak Kapa, Wak Me•a-meseng, Doh Sniang Neiiong, Doh Syiar Kylla, Wak Aloo, Na•tok Kapa, Tangsek Genasi Na•kam, Tungrymbai and Pudina chutney.
The guests enjoyed and complimented the ethnic dishes displayed.
There was also a Karaoke performance wherein Meghalaya Students residing in Delhi performed special numbers which have entertained the guests very much.
It may be mentioned that this office has been hosting lunch reception on Meghalaya Day for the past several years and this years’ footfall was twice as compared to the previous years.
