Political parties yet to finalise manifestoes

SHILLONG: With just three weeks away for the Assembly polls, the political parties are yet to finalise the manifestoes and the related documents.
NPP was to finalise its vision document this week, but could not do so and the document is in the final stage.
An NPP source said that the document will mention several points including economic measures to empower the people in the rural areas of the state among other issues.
As far as the manifesto of Congress is concerned, a party source said that the Congress will highlight the achievements during the past five years and the need to have continuity.
A part leader of the newly formed PDF said that the party will come up with various initiatives which can bring overall development to the State as it does not have many policies to carry forward despite completing 46 years.
The UDP-HSPDP combine which has pre poll alliance will have both individual and common issues to be followed up once they come to power.
Sources said that the BJP in its manifesto will highlight the achievements of BJP led government at the Centre to convey to the people of Meghalaya that the State can usher in change.
