TURA: The National People’s Party (NPP) has accused the Congress candidate for South Tura, Grithalson Arengh, and his supporters of making inflammatory speeches against it and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his rally at New Walbakgre here on Friday evening.
In its complaint to the district election officer, general secretary of NPP’s Tura unit Mathias N Marak claimed that Arengh and his supporters had cautioned voters that if NPP and BJP are voted to power, Christianity would be eliminated from Meghalaya. Marak also claimed that no recording was made of the incident as the video surveillance team was not present at the site.
