BJP Vision document promises houses, jobs, potable water to all in Meghal

SHILLONG: Union Defence Minister and BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman  on Thursday  released the party’s  Vision document for the poll-bound  Meghalaya here on Thursday promising dwelling houses for everyone, jobs to unemployed , drinking water to every family and uninterrupted electricity  among others.

 Speaking to media persons after releasing the document,  the Union Minister alleged that basic infrastructures like road and safe drinking water could not provided to the people of Meghalaya by the incumbent Congress government though it had been in power for two consecutive terms.

 She also said that the India is country with surplus electricity now. The Mission document promises housing for all with pukka roof,   one job opportunity to every youth,   employment to  2 lakh youth in the Tourism industry besides more agricultural markets and others.

 “Why things could not move here in 10  years under Congress regime,” she told reporters

When asked about  the claims of BJP to create 2 crore jobs, she said  apart from formal jobs,   informal jobs and self-employment  generation are not usually counted

Responding to a query about the citizenship Amendment Act   which has been vehemently opposed in the North East, she said that   most of such  decisions were made based on High Court orders.

 The BJP has promised one packet of  sanitary napkins to all women from   the BPL Houses. Responding to query, she said that the party cares for woman and their hygiene issues.
