SHILLONG: The general secretary of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Auspicious Lyngdoh Mawphlang, has threatened to file a defamation case against Charles Khyriem for circulating a message in a WhatsApp group on Monday alleging that the former visited Independent candidate SK Sun’s place for monetary benefits.
Auspicious said the WhatsApp group message has affected his reputation. The allegation against him came up in the WhatsApp group under the name ‘MPCC Mawphlang 2018’.
The PDF leader clarified that in the same evening he had gone to the ATM of the SBI Mawngap branch, which is adjacent to Sunn’s house, to withdraw money around 10.15 pm.
“Charles Khyriem has to come forward to clarify on this allegation that I entered the house of SK Sunn,” he said as he rubbished the allegation as baseless and “meant to mislead the public by the Congress”.
