SHILLONG: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the apex industry body of the country, congratulated the new Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government and said it would like to work with Conrad Sangma’s team to help the state grow.
“Our best wishes go to the new team. CII is confident that in the new dispensation, the state will find a government that is development driven and responsive to the aspirations of the people, especially the youth,” Mayank Jalan, Chairman, CII North East Council and Managing Director, Keventer Agro Ltd, said in a press statement.
Infrastructure development should be the major thrust area of the new government, Jalan said and added that improving connectivity within the state and also with the rest of the country will help promote tourism.
The other priority areas for the incoming government in Meghalaya include creating enabling environment for investments, education, skill development and healthcare, Jalan explained.
