Conrad-led government has made 12 political appointments in 3 days

SHILLONG: The newly-installed Government in Meghalaya has made 12 political appointments within three days of its formation.

Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma has asked the Chief Secretary to take necessary steps for the political appointments.

BJP MLA from South Shillong, Sanbor Shullai has been appointed as the chairman of Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) while another MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong has been appointed as the chairman of Meghalaya Government Construction Company (MGCC).

In addition, Gavin Mylliem has been appointed as the chairman of Khadi Board while Dasakhiat Lamare has been appointed as the chairman of Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

Brenning A Sangma and Rupert Momin have been appointed as the chairman of Meghalaya Minerals Development Corporation MMDC and Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (MIDC), respectively.

HSPDP MLA, Reninkon Lyngdoh Tongkhar who defied the directive of HSPDP to support the Government has been made the chairman of Meghalaya Non-Conventional Energy Agency while Macmillan Byrsat has been appointed as the chairman of Meghalaya State Law Commission.

Another MLA, Gigur Myrthong is now the chairman of Meghalaya State Housing Board while Jim M Sangma has been made the chairman of Transport Corporation.

Pongseng R Marak and SG Esmatur Mominin, have been appointed as the chairmen of   Meghalaya State Grievances Committee and Forest Development Corporation.
