WJH sericulture farm gets incubating machines

JOWAI: The chairman of the Central Silk Board, KM Hanumantharayappa, inaugurated two incubating machines of the Sericulture Department at a farm spread over 14 acres of land in Ummulong, West Jaintia Hills, on Saturday.
The machines worth Rs 8 lakh were installed under the Intensive Bivoltine Sericulture Development Project and will help the department in storing silkworm eggs in specified temperature as required for raring silkworms, said G Pakyntein, manager of the Foreign Race Seed Station.
Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla, Director of Central Silk Board in Berhampore (West Bengal) K Trivedi, Director Sericulture and Weaving, SK Barchung, were also present at the programme.
