SHILLONG: To check the factual misrepresentation in several MBoSE textbooks, Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui directed an official of the Education department to provide him copies of the textbooks that are marred with such errors.

“I will look into it and corrective measures will be taken so that students will not suffer,” he told reporters on Tuesday and maintained that such mistakes will “be the first and the last.”

“We will look into every aspect of it,” he added.

It may be mentioned that several organisations have raised a hue and cry over the factual misrepresentation of Khasi culture and tradition, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors in the textbooks.

Full-time MBoSE Executive Chairman

Again, Rymbui said that the government would very soon appoint an efficient full-time Executive Chairman of Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE).

“For the last 2-3 years, we did not have a full-time Executive Chairman of MBoSE. The need of the hour is for MBoSE to have a full-time Executive Chairman,” he said.
