SHILLONG: Independent legislator S K Sunn on Friday asked the government whether the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture and Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States are implemented in the State.
During question hour, the Horticulture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh, in his reply, however, said that he required notice on the matter meaning that the reply was not readily available with him. Several legislators have also raised queries on various aspects related to horticulture.
In reply to supplementary questions, the Minister said that the government is committed to construct lay-by markets to help those who sell agriculture and horticulture produces.
CM on central assistance
In reply to a question by H M Shangpliang (Congress) as to whether Special Plan Assistance (SPA) from the Centre is available for the improvement of horticulture, the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma said that the 14th Finance Commission had stopped SPA and the state has to implement the pending schemes.
