TURA: Different regional units of the GSU from East Garo Hills have dismissed the statement made by GSU CEC President Tengsak G Momin and General Secretary John Miltu Sangma, with regard to the dissolution of the union’s Rongjeng unit, which was published in a local newspaper.

In his statement issued to the media, Tengsak had stated that there was a need to dissolve the said unit in view of growing demand and a new date for fresh elections to the posts of President and General Secretary was fixed for May 4.

Dismissing the statement, the district regional units said, “We do not consider them (GSU CEC) as our leader as they are self-proclaimed leaders doing business for the interests of their family and their children. If they continue to interfere with the issues of the GSU East Zone, we will not hesitate to take necessary steps”.
