SHILLONG: Air Deccan is all set to start its services from Shillong airport in Umroi from Thursday.
An official said trial runs will be conducted on Thursday and the first flight from Agartala to Shillong will land at the airport at 10 am.
At 10.25 am, a flight to Dimapur will take off from the airport and another fight from Dimapur will land at 12.30 pm.
Another flight from Shillong airport will leave for Agartala at 12.45 pm.
Senior officials of Air Deccan will be present on the occasion.
Under the UDAN, or Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik scheme, the Shillong airport will be connected with Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Imphal and Silchar.
Under the central scheme, air fares are capped at Rs 2,500 per person for an hour’s flight to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and the government will provide subsidy.
