Govt will act as per findings of probe into violence: CM

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has asked the political leaders to act responsibly to ensure peace and development in the state.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Conrad said detailed inquiry into the incident is going on and the government will take a stand based on the outcome of the inquiry.
Stating that he did not want to play the blame game on the issue, Conrad assured that the law will take its own course as inquiry is going on and the government is collecting reports from all sides. “Our government will never a play the blame game for problems either from the past or in the future,” he said adding that if the inquiry finds anyone responsible for the incident, law will take its own course.
Reacting to a query on the issue of relocation of residents of Them Iew Mawlong, he said that though it is an old issue with lot of legalities involved, the present government is ensuring that it does not sit on things for long.
He reiterated that his government was committed to finding a permanent solution to the problem by involving all stakeholders and at the same time it would ensure that law and order problems do not arise in the city again.
