SHILLONG: Taking into account the rampant sexual abuse in the country and the states, the Meghalaya Progressive Counselor’s Union (MPCU) will organise “Counselors meet on Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012” on Tuesday at Anton Hall.
In a statement issued here, the MPCU stated that the meeting aims at orienting the audience on the act with emphasis on the role of school counselor and creating a platform for addressing concerns in the professional paradigm with regard to POCSO related cases.
According to the union, education plays a vital role in transforming a society by making its children more aware, liberal minded and independent while preventing the creation of future abusive behaviour in children by inculcating in them the right attitude.
