Workshop on waste management held

Nongpoh: A day-long District Level Workshop on waste management for headmen, market committees, NSS college students and Joint Forest Management Committee was held on Tuesday at Science Hall Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi District.
At the workshop, resource persons such as B.Challam, Programme Associate of SCSTE, W.R Kharkrang, Environmental Engineer, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, W.Shadap, Co-ordinator SIPMIU, A.Phimu, CPPA Specialist DSMC and U. Kurbah, SDO, PHE, Nongpoh Division presented a brief highlighted on the importance of the newly formulated Acts and Rules on waste management. The resource persons also briefed on the aim to spread the concept of the 3R principle which includes Reduce, Re-use and Recycle of the waste products.
