Govt to repair Goralane road, residents appreciate move

SHILLONG: The Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun on behalf of the taxpayers and commuters of the Umpling Road also known as Goralane has expressed its gratitude to the State Government and the PWD for repairing the road after deliberation and tussle which has prolonged for several years.
In a statement on Sunday, the Shnong has thanked the Deputy Chief Minister i/c PWD, PrestoneTynsong, to have timely addressed the issue after receiving the request from the headmen of Laitumkhrah.
“The road has been in the news for many years for its dilapidated condition. The prompt response of the present led MDA government has created a sigh of relief to the commuters of this road,” the statement said.The Dorbar has also lauded the effort of the PWD officials and also to the land owner F Kharmawphlang who has agreed to donate a portion of her land to widen the entrance to this road at the ‘Lailad junction’ on the request of the Shnong.
The Dorbar has urged the commuters to bear with the traffic arrangements that will be made by the STP during the course of the repair work.
