Police yet to zero on culprit behind robbery, assault of MLA’s brother

SHIILLONG: Police have detained and questioned some suspects who might have been involved behind the recent robbery case in which Rishan Rapsang, brother of West Shillong legislator Mohendro Rapsang, was robbed and injured by an assailant inside his residential premises at Jaiaw Langsning

Talking to media persons here on Monday, East Khasi Hills SP, Davis Marak said that the police had few leads and sources had informed police about who may be the probable person behind the incident and police were working on the leads.

He further added that the Police at the moment could not rule out anything be it political angle or any other angle until the   investigation was completed into the matter

The SP also said that as per the victim, the bag which was looted contained Rs  9 lakhs.

CCTV footage showed the masked assailant hitting Rishan after which he fell down unconscious. The miscreant fled away from the scene after snatching his bag.
