Woman threatened
Rosina Ryntathiang lodged a complaint that on July 1 at about 3 pm, Gurpeet Singh went to her shop at 4th Mile, Dong Pynthor, Shillong, committed nuisance, indecently abused them, vandalized the shop and also threatened to harm them if they pass through Punjabi Line.
Theft
Richard W A Nongrum lodged a complaint that unknown miscreants stole batteries valued around Rs. 3 lakh belonging to M/s Airtel from Wahkdait village in East Khasi Hills.
On the night of June 28, unknown miscreants broke into the office of Govt. LP School at Langkyrdem (EKH) and stole cash Rs. 3,000.
One killed in accident
On July 1, a dumper truck (ML-04B-6419) driven by Shakri Siangshai collided with another truck (PB-12-1979) at Umtyra village, NH-44 in East Jaintia Hills. As a result, the driver of dumper truck sustained injuries and later succumbed to his injuries on the way to CHC Khliehriat. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
Body recovered
On June 29, Rimus Suting (51) left his residence at Moolamylliang village in East Jaintia Hills for Cement Bazar and did not return home. Later, his dead body was recovered from a pond at Iurimjri. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.
Atm damaged
On June 28 midnight, unknown miscreants damaged the ATM installed in the premises of M/s Adhunik Cement Ltd., at Thangskai in East Jaintia Hills in an attempt to commit burglary.
