SHILLONG: NCP MLA Saleng Sangma attended the pre-launch of an online educational website, Edurial which aims to provide access of study materials in the form of videos, notes, presentations, mock tests and solved questions to students.

Speaking at the pre-launch at Shillong Press Club on Wednesday, Sangma spoke about the lack of quality education in the state especially in subjects such as mathematics and science.

Terming the website as a guide book, he said, “It will help students who cannot afford to go for tuitions and it will also benefit those students from the rural areas.”

The Edurial team consists of Hanif Syiemlieh, Natalia Shullai who are founders and the others are Tahir Khan, Romario Lyngdoh, Samhaoo Passah, Debashish Das, Bikash Boro and Abhijit Das who teamed to open up a website to promote quality education.

“We are in the motion of developing an app. There are no teachers only animated videos, animation, solved question papers, it is all about teaching in a fun way. We have simplified it in the form of animation,” Shullai said.

The target audience is for classes IX and X and later plan to move to class XI and XII as well as cater to candidates applying for Meghalaya Civil Services examinations.

The website will help students in subjects such as mathematics, science and computer science based on NCERT textbooks.
