4 teenagers held for MPSC petrol bomb attack

SHILLONG: Police have arrested four teenagers, including two main accused who were involved in hurling a petrol bomb at the office of the secretary of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission on July 10.
After they were arrested on Sunday, the four men were produced in the court on Monday and they have been remanded to 10 days of police custody.
Talking to media persons on Monday, East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said along with the two main accused persons who lobbed the petrol bomb, another one who was abetting the crime and was waiting for them in a Maruti van to ferry them, has also been arrested.
Out of the main accused, one went upstairs while another waited outside the MPSC office on the morning of July 10.
Police arrested one more person who distributed money to the trio to commit the crime.
However, he told the police that he was asked to distribute the money to the accused on behalf of another person.
He, however, did not reveal the name of the sponsor who gave Rs 50,000 and instead provided vague description to the police.
Police are trying to find out the fifth person who sponsored the crime with money and other facilities.
The two main persons who committed the crime have revealed that they were paid Rs 18,000 each to lob the petrol bomb.
The police refused to reveal the identity of the arrested persons but added that they are teenagers.
