NEIGRIHMS observes population fortnight

SHILLONG: Along with the rest of the world, NEIGRIHMS too, observed the Population fortnight, which concluded on Tuesday.
During the observation programme counseling to eligible couples for adopting small family norms was given by senior nursing officials and community nursing of Community Medicine Department.
Various contraceptives were displayed and distributed to the people visiting the family planning counters.
A mass awareness programme was organised in the OPD foyer, where in Dr. Himashree, Assistant Professor of Community Medicine and Dr. Panda, I/C HOD Gynecology/Obstetrics addressed the patients, attendants, visitors and staff of the hospital and explained the benefits of small family norms and the various methods available to adopt small families.
Medical Superintendent, NEIGRIHMS, Dr. (Prof.) Noor Topno, described the observance of population fortnight a success, wherein many visitors of the hospital benefits through the valuable advise by our experts.
