SHILLONG: The BJP will meet on August 1 in Ranikor to decide on the party candidate.
The state BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Saturday that a final decision whether to field a candidate or not will be taken during the Ranikor meeting.
Earlier, while the BJP had decided to extend support to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for South Tura by-poll, the party was open to field candidate in Ranikor.
However, the state party president made it clear only after seeking the views of the party workers and leaders in Ranikor that a decision can be arrived at.
