AMPATI: The District-level workshop on Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign was held at DRDA Conference Hall at Ampati on Monday. The day-long workshop was attended by the District School Education officials, CDPOs, medical & health officials of South West Garo Hills.
In his brief inaugural address, South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ramkumar S. enlightened the participants on the importance of health and education in the development of society stating that spreading awareness and knowledge on preventive measures is necessary to avoid many health problems affecting the society. “Vaccination is one of the measures to prevent highly infectious diseases that continue to kill many children”, he said.
He also highlighted on the dangers of Rubella and called for coordinated efforts of all concerned to make the campaign a success just like the Special Intensified Mission Indradhanush which saw cent per cent success in the district.
