SHILLONG: Advisor to Seng Khasi Hima Mawsynram, Disparsing Rani resigned from the post after the president of the organisation, Tyllilang Myrthong placed his objection to the Governor on the KHADC (Khasi Social Custom of Lineage) (Second Amendment) Bill, 2018 without the knowledge of the organisation.
“Myrthong bypassed the standard procedure of the organisation which is unacceptable prompting me to quit from the post”, Rani said in a press conference on Thursday.
In his letter to the Governor on August 1, Myrthong stated that the new proposed inserted section 3 (d) is in violation of fundamental rights guaranteed to the citizens of the country.
Completely disagreeing with Myrthong, Rani said “It is an ideal bill to protect the interest of the indigenous community.”
