3 year jail term for molesting girl

SHILLONG: Court of Special Judge (POCSO), Shillong has sentenced one person to rigorous imprisonment of  three  years for molesting a girl in the year  2015.

Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, informed that it was on  August 1, 2015  when one Victor Rynjah, had molested a minor girl at her residence at Malki Wakadait, Shillong and in this connection, a case in Laitumkhrah Police Station  was registered.

During the course of investigation, the accused was chargesheeted u/s 7/8 POCSO Act and during the trial, the Court of Special Judge (POCSO), Shillong found him guilty of committing offence of sexual assault on the minor girl

The Court in its order on August  2,  sentenced the accused to 3 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 1000.
