Woman accuses Union minister Gohain of sexual harassment, withdraws case later

GUWAHATI: Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain has been accused of sexual harassment by a woman in Nagaon where she filed a case on August 2 last in Nagaon police station only to submit a written application to retract the case on August 4.

Meanwhile, Nabarun Gohain, son of the union minister has filed counter case accusing the woman and her husband of blackmailing the minister.

The Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, Sankarbrata Raichaudhury informed that police had conducted all the formalities in connection with the case including recording of her statement, medical examination of the woman etc. He also informed that the woman had made a written submission to withdraw the case.

The officer also informed that the minister’s son too had filed a counter case accusing the woman of blackmailing.
