22 officers arrested in APSC scam remanded to judicial custody again

GUWAHATI: Twenty-two accused in ‘cash-for-jobs’ scam that rocked Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), who were arrested in July second half this year, were sent to another 14 days of judicial custody on their production in the court here on Monday.

Nineteen of the accused who are all serving officers in Assam government and were recruited the then Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) headed by now jailed chairman Rakesh Pal, were arrested on July 18 last. Another officer was arrested on July 23 along with two brokers involved in the APSC scadal.

All these arrested officers belong to either Assam Civil Service (ACS)/allied services or  Assam Police Service.
