SHILLONG: The Civil Society Women’s Organisation (CSWO) is of the view that the state government should hold peace talks with the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC).
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, CSWO said if HNLC is offering peace talk without conditions then the government must reciprocate.
“If politicians sitting in the Assembly presently were members of this organisation, then there is no harm in having peace with the youth who have joined this group, who want to have peace talks,” CSWO’s Agnes Kharshiing said.
“… when such an offer is made it is the duty of the state government to embrace such a move to bring about peace and ensure security prevails with talks of peace,” she added.
