SHILLONG: GVK EMRI in association with the NEIGRIHMS conducted the Basic Life Support workshop for 97 undergraduate medical students who had gathered from all parts of the country as a part of the 1st Under-graduate Conference held at NEIGRIHMS from August 16 to 18. The main objective of the workshop was to build capacities for emergency care in hospital and also to ensure that the medical students acquire the necessary skills of CPR needed to treat victim of cardiac arrest. They were also taught to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on a victim of cardiac arrest and to recognise and treat a victim of choking.
Certificates were distributed at the end of the programme from AHA.
