Shillong: Eight years ago the Shillong Chamber Choir first set foot on Mumbai’s iconic Film City to participate and win India’s Got Talent Khoj 2. They have since made several visits to that city over the years, and continue to wow their audiences every time.
This time they made a grand entry into the much celebrated world of Hindi soap to perform for the much acclaimed Indian musical TV series — Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala that airs on Star Plus and Hotstar from Mondays to Fridays at 8.30 pm.
This time the SCC have added zing to their repertoire with their four up-and-comers — the young students of their Shillong Chamber School at Whispering Pines, Pohkseh.
The troupe includes ten year old Mangkyrpang Kharshiing, 9 year old Ishaya Lyndem who came 1st (98%) and 2nd (95%) respectively from Meghalaya for their Trinity College of Music Grade 3 Piano Exams.
Apart from these two is a vivacious little imp the eight year old Pynwan Lyngdoh and the seven year old soloist, Ariya Lyndem.
Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala is the story of a young singing prodigy Kullfi, who encounters several hurdles to unite with her father but is ever hopeful.
This particular episode featuring the SCC will showcase a surprise track for viewers called Jashn-e-Hindustan — a concert celebrating Independence Day in all its splendour.
This sequence will include the entry of some well-known special guests including Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Nakash Aziz and of course the Shillong Chamber Choir who are going to put up patriotic performances for the concert.
This segment will be aired either on August 21 or 22 on Star Plus at 8:30pm.
