Revision of electoral rolls
The Deputy Commissioner ( Election) West Jaintia Hills has informed that the Election Commission of India has fixed the programme for Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with Janaury 1, 2019 as qualifying date. All eligible persons who have attained the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2019 are requested to get themselves enrolled in the Electoral Roll.

Release of rice, atta and sugar
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District has informed public consumers that Rice under NFSA, Non-NFSA and Wholemeal Atta for the month of August 2018 and Sugar for the month of July, August and September 2017 will be released through Fair Price Shops with effect from August 23.

Interview
The Officer on Special Duty, Shillong Science Centre, Planning Department, Govt of Meghalaya informed that the interview for the posts of Chief Mentor and Junior Mentor will be conducted on September 5 from 9 am and for the posts of Educational Assistant, Technician, Peon and Cleaner, the interview will be conducted on September 6 and 7 from 10 am for all selected candidates. They are required to bring all relevant documents in original and the interview will be held at the Office of the Shillong Science Centre, NEHU Campus, Mawlai Umshing, Shillong.

Office bearers
Sewa S Marak and Ricky D Shira won the GSU Nongalbibra regional unit’s election as new president and general secretary respectively. The election was held on Monday.

Selection test
The selection test for private candidates for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate-2018 is scheduled to be held on September 17. Application forms will be issued by the headmaster/headmistress/principal of centers concerned and the last date for submission to the centers is August 23.
