Roy to take oath today

SHILLONG: Tathagata Roy will be sworn in as governor of Meghalaya on Saturday at Raj Bhavan.
Transferred from Tripura, Roy will replace incumbent Ganga Prasad who has been posted to Sikkim even before completing a year in office in Meghalaya.
In his political career, Roy was the BJP president in West Bengal from 2002 to 2006. The 73-year-old politician was a swayamsevak since 1985 and member of the BJP national executive since 2002.
