Fourth accused in rape case absconding

TURA: The fourth accused in the rape of a Garo girl in Assam is absconding while three others have been arrested.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mustafizur Hussain (20) from Tukura Pt-III under Goalpara, Joynel Abedin (20) and Abdul Latif (19) both from Kalagachia in Barpeta District of Assam.
The Garo girl was allegedly raped by her boyfriend and three other friends at Tukura under Agia Police Station of Goalpara District in Assam recently.
A delayed report revealed that the incident took place on the night of August 23 when the girl had gone with her boyfriend to celebrate Eid.
Police informed that instead of taking the girl to his home to meet his parents, the accused, Mustafizur Hussain, took her to a friend’s place from where she was taken to a paddy field and gang raped by the four.
The girl was given drug laced cold drinks by the accused before they committed the crime.
The victim hails from a Garo village under Boko Police Station in Assam.
