Bandh disrupts vehicular traffic on Assam highways

GUWAHATI: Statewide 36-hour bandh called by All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union has disrupted vehicular traffic along the national highways in Assam preventing people from travelling to upper Assam and lower Assam areas from Guwahati.

The bandh has disrupted people’s movement from Shillong to eastern Assam via Jorabat as well as from Garo hills to Assam areas.

The bandh has been called by the organisation to press for their demand for Scheduled Tribe status of Koch Rajbongshi community.
