6th foundation day of NPP observed on Purno’s 71st Birth Anniversary

TURA: The 6th Foundation Day of the National People’s Party (NPP) was observed on Saturday at the residence of former Tura MP, Agatha K Sangma here at Walbakgre in Tura.

With the date coinciding with the 71st Birth Anniversary late P A Sangma, the founder of NPP, the same was also observed in a simple but solemn gathering in the presence of his wife, Soradini K Sangma, daughter, Agatha K Sangma, son and Home Minister, James Pangsang K Sangma, Adviser to the Chief Minister, Thomas A Sangma and hundreds of party workers and supporters.

Home Minister, James Pangsang K Sangma who was the main speaker on the occasion recalled that soon after the passing of Late P A Sangma, their political opponents had predicted the end of NPP. He added that the party had proved them wrong and it was now a part of the government not only in the state but also in Manipur and Nagaland including Arunachal Pradesh and Assam where senior and elected leaders have already joined the party.

Adviser to the Chief Minister and North Tura MLA, Thomas A Sangma who also spoke on the occasion said that NPP was a legacy of Late P A Sangma and urged each and everyone to work hard together to keep his legacy alive.

Earlier, the party flag was unfurled at 12 noon which was accompanied by the Late leader’s favourite song ‘O ang atchiram song’.
