SHILLONG:  The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) is now keen to bring People’s  Democratic Front (PDF) under one umbrella to make regional forces more stronger in the state.

Talking to media persons here on Thursday, HSPDP president, KP Pangiang said that UDP and HSPDP would try to have a mutual understanding with the PDF on the issue and work as a unified force.

Asserting that the HSPDP and UDP will stick to the MDA government he, however, admitted that the performance of regional parties was not so impressive in the recent election

Stressing on the need to have mutual understanding between three major regional parties in the state, he said that HSPDP and UDP will have internal arrangements for the upcoming District council elections

“ We are trying to seek ways and means as how to strengthen each other,” he said while adding that the party is yet to take any call  on the Lok Sabha election scheduled to take place next year.

It was last year when the HSPDP-UDP-GNC coalition formed the Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) and they came together to contest the Assembly elections.
