Accident
On September 5 at about 11.30 am, a motorcycle (ML-08B-6441) ridden by Dipes Koch (15) met with an accident at Zikzak in South West Garo Hills. The rider and two pillion riders – ages 17 and 15 – sustained injuries and were taken to Zikzak PHC.
On September 5 around 3:00 pm, one pick-up vehicle (AS-01JC-4814) crashed into a tourist vehicle (ML-05L-7547) at Pahamsyiem in Nongpoh. The occupants of the tourist vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby Hospital
On September 5 around 9:00pm, one tanker (MN-04A-0754) plunged into a gorge at Nongtraw in Ri Bhoi. The driver and handyman sustained injuries.

Assault
On September 3 around 7.30 pm, five persons, Monto Ch Sangma, Jackson D Sangma, Jonti R Marak, Posen S Sangma and Sarbestar Ch Sangma assaulted Xavier R Marak at Khasindha village in East Khasi Hills. The victim sustained injuries and was taken to CHC Ichamati.
Meckentush D Shira Sordar of Kaskona village and others lodged a complaint stating that on September 4 around 9 pm, Brillian Sangma went to his house and assaulted his wife Tengchira Marak and three others identified as Clifford Sangma, Rosalin Marak and Chema Marak with sharp objects. The victims sustained injuries and were taken to Dainadubi PHC.
A 5-year-old child identified as Phiban Sabeth Lyngdoh Nongrum of Mawlai Mawiong fell from a 10 ft high building while she was playing on Friday around 1:00pm. The child sustained multiple injuries and was transported to Civil Hospital in the city by a Lawmali-based 108 ambulance .
On Friday, an intoxicated Saunkar Sangma (22) from Berbari fell from a tree and lost consciousness. He was taken to Mendipathar PHC by a Resubelpara-based 108 ambulance.
A head on collision involving two motorcycles took place at Gondagre around 4:55 pm on Friday. Both riders were under the influence of alcohol. Sanen Marak (28) sustained injuries and was transported to Tikrikilla PHC by a Tikrikilla-based 108 ambulance.

Hit and run
On Friday around 6:19pm JK Singh (40) was run over by a vehicle at 7th mile in Jowai. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to Jowai Civil Hospital by a Laskein-based 108 ambulance
Debt defaulter
Alinda Mary Lawai lodged a complaint stating that on March 5, Biolin Pyrtuh along with four members of Annapurna Company (Finance Company) borrowed Rs 25,000/- from her with a promise to pay her back in installments. However, till date she had received only Rs 5,000 and the accused persons have absconded.

Fraud
Tengrang R Marak lodged a complaint stating that on August 25 he had a telephonic job interview by Global Technology, Shillong and HR recruiter for the post of accountant in ICICI and HDFC Bank, Shillong Branch and was asked to deposit Rs 2,000 as security. Later, on August 27 he was asked to deposit Rs 6,000 for document verification. Accordingly, the complainant deposited the money and later realised that he had been cheated.
Kabeer Singh lodged a complaint that on February 8 around 9 pm, Rs 20,801 was debited from his SBI account without his consent.
Hukum Chand of DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong lodged a complaint that on September 5 around 1 pm, he had called SBI Customer Care and provided his ATM card details when asked for by an unknown person. Later, he received a call informing him that Rs 38,899 had been withdrawn from his account.

Theft
R War, Executive Engineer, (D) Division, MePDCL, East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint stating that on September 5 around 9:30pm, security guards apprehended one Akash Singh (20) and recovered one GI through bolt, one 11 KV GI pin insulator nut and bolt and one pair of GI strap of shackle insulator from his possession. All the items were stolen from the Division Store yard at Lumjingshai. Police have arrested the accused.

Vandalism
The Chairman, Joint Forest Managing Committee (JFMC) cum Headman of Larnai village lodged a complaint stating that on September 3, unknown miscreants destroyed four thousand saplings planted at Sung valley, Larnai in West Jaintia Hills. The complainant suspected that one Trik Pyngrope is involved in the incident since he had stopped and threatened the JMFC members with dire consequences, while they were planting the saplings on August 30.
