SHILLONG: The general council (GC) of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), East Khasi Hills (EKH) District Branch, is likely to be held in the first week of October 2018 with an objective to strengthen and widening the activities of the party in East Khasi Hills District.

This was discussed in a meeting of the leaders and party workers of HSPDP, East Khasi Hills District Branch, held on Friday at Shillong.

In a statement issued here, chief organiser of the party and MLA/MDC, Samlin Malniang called upon the need to have full-fledged office bearers and members of the party in the district.

After a thorough discussion, the meeting unanimously decided to constitute an ad hoc body, District Committee headed by Martle N. Mukhim as president.

Malniang and Mylliem MDC Teilinia Thangkhiew will be the ex-officio members of the committee and it has also been decided that they should give special support and contribution for the organisation of the party in the district.
