Earthquake rocks Assam, parts of NE on Tuesday

GUWAHATI: An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude in the Richter scale hit Assam and parts of rest of Northeast at around 9.18 am on Tuesday. Two back to back tremors were felt, the second one at 9.21 am. There has been no report of any damage or casualty.

The quake occurred at a depth of ten kilometer in Barpeta district of Assam, according to India Meteorological Department.
