Cong, NPP tribute to Father of Nation

SHILLONG/TURA: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Tuesday at Congress Bhavan. In the meeting held the leaders of the party dwelt at length on the theme “values and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, and relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in today’s social political and economic scenario in the country”.
James S Lyngdoh, working president who chaired the meeting urged upon the party members to rededicate themselves to the ideals and principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
Meanwhile, the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in collaboration with  Kharang Sports & Social Welfare Club Kharang celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Kharang village which is under Mawkynrew C&RD Block East Khasi Hills district, under the presence of M Nongrum, Block Co-ordinator Swachh Bharat Mission who was also the resource person.
As part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, members of the National People’s Party (NPP) on Tuesday, assembled at the party office in Tura and offered ‘Saadhanjali’ to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
