GUWAHATI: The department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, government of India in association with the Nagaland government is organising a regional conference on good governance initiatives in Kohima from Wednesday. Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio will inaugurate the two-day event. Rio along with KV Eapen, secretary, department of administrative reforms and public grievances, will also address the participants, informed an official statement on Tuesday. Delegates from the eight northeastern states will participate in the conference, which will accommodate seven technical sessions. Twelve presentations will be made during five sessions on the inaugural day, which will be followed by panel discussions. Sub themes of the technical sessions include capacity building, technology and best practices by aspiring districts. The concluding day will feature five presentations on transforming aspiring districts and good governance initiatives followed by panel discussions. Nagaland chief secretary, R. Binchilo Thong and additional secretary, department of administrative reforms and public grievances, Vasudha Mishra will address the valedictory session. The department has organised 29 regional conferences till date. This conference is an effort to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of best practices in citizen-centric governance, improved public service delivery through e-governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration.
