SHILLONG: The traffic department has tweaked a few routes to decongest Keating Road.
In a statement issued on Monday, the SP (Traffic) said the taxi stand for Jhalupara and Bishnapur-bound vehicles opposite Yog Maya will be shifted to near Keating Road Community Hall opposite Goenka Workshop.
Vehicles will not be allowed to take the route from Bamboo Hut to Kali Mandir but the reverse route will be open. The other stretches where there will ‘no-entry’ for vehicles are the one from Khan Tyre Shop on Keating Road to MESEB Office, from City Panda near SP’s Office to Saigal Shop on Keating Road and the one from Saigal Shop to Holiday Home Civil Hospital.
However, for all these stretches, the reverse route will be open. For instance, vehicles can now come from MESEB Office to Khan Tyre Shop and similarly for other two routes.
