Warning against sale of expired products in SWKH

MAWKYRWAT: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of South West Khasi Hills District, Isawanda Laloo, has issued a notice prohibiting shopkeepers from selling expired food products.
Laloo informed that the decision has been taken after receiving several complaints from the people that some shops in the District sell goods even after the end of the expiry date.
“Therefore, all the shops should discard all the expired products and if anyone is found violating this order, action will be taken as per the Essential Commodities Act and the Food Safety Standard Act,” Laloo said, adding that this orders shall come into force with immediate effect.
