World Mental Health Day observed in Williamnagar

TURA: World Mental Health Day was observed by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of East Garo Hills at the District Jail premises in Williamnagar with 32 jail inmates on Wednesday.

 

 Delivering the welcome and key-note address, DLSA Secretary, TT M Sangma, highlighted the importance of mental health dwelling on this year’s theme, “Young people and mental health in a changing world”

 On the day, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Saljong R Marak, spoke at length about the role and duties of the Government and the administration with regard to mental health. Dr Amin A Momin, on the other hand, highlighted the effects of mental or neurological disorders, early symptoms and treatment of mental illness and the Legal Aid Counsel while Jan N Arengh, spoke about free legal aid services.
