Bruce Dern discharged from hospital
Actor Bruce Dern is out of the hospital, in no pain, and eager to get back to work, according
to his publicist, Lee Wallman. Earlier reports had Dern hiking in Runyon Canyon, but the accident that briefly hospitalised him turned out to be borne of jogging. Dern was described as being in ‘incredibly good spirits’ and anxious to get back to work, reports a website. On Saturday, the actor was hospitalised after he suffered a possible fractured hip. The 82-year-old was jogging at Silverlake Reservoir. Dern just completed filming Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, a role he took over from the late Burt Reynolds. Dern plays rancher George Spahn in the film, a Pulp Fiction-esque tapestry of stories in and around Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, when Charles Manson and his followers massacred Sharon Tate and others. The film will be released July 26, 2019, by Sony Pictures. (IANS)
Death on the Nile release date pushed to October 2020
The release of Fox’s Death on the Nile has been postponed to October 2, 2020. According to
Deadline, the film, which is a follow-up to Murder on the Orient Express, was originally scheduled to open on December 20, 2019. Death on the Nile will now avoid clash with Star Wars: Episode 9. Based on celebrated author Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name, the new movie will chronicle Poirot’s vacation in Egypt where he discovers a murder on the banks of the Nile as a love triangle goes bad. Kenneth Branagh returns as director and reprises his role of detective Hercule Poirot. Tom Bateman is set to return as Bouc. Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer are also attached to star. The book has been previously adapted into a 1978 film, with Peter Ustinov as Poirot along with Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, Maggie Smith, among others. (PTI)

Singer Zayn Malik sent his Instagram fans into a tizzy with an intimate shirtless photograph of him
self. The One Direction superstar, who has come up with new single ‘Fingers’, logged into the official Zayn Instagram account to share a racy topless snap, reported a website. Shot with his trademark black and white filter, Malik showed off his extensive collection of body art as he posed for a mirror picture. He didn’t caption the post. Letting the picture do the talking, Zayn failed to caption the post. Fans swooned over the photograph, which garnered over 2 million likes in less than 12 hours. Holy Zesus, one supporter praised, while another added: God kill me now. ‘Zayn you’re so so beautiful,’ wrote another fan. Malik is currently working on his second solo album. The record, which had been tipped to be released this year, will be his first since 2016 offering Mind Of Mine. (IANS)
