Pre Diwali celebration at Jhalupara

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Environmental Social Organisation (MESO) along with the NPP youth Wing, National’s People’s Youth Front (NPYF) distributed clothes, toys, books and footwear to children from poor family at Jhalupara on Saturday.
Members of MESO and NPYF handed the items to the children. Mebanri Laloo, CEO of MESO said, “This attempt might not alleviate all their problems, but may decrease their sufferings to a little extent.”
Thrangki Pohshna, president of the NPYF delivered a short speech saying, “The children of Meghalaya are the future of the state and as youth president, I wish that all the children in the state are given an equal opportunity in life to realise their full potential.”
83 children were present at the event. The local community were supportive of the activity organised by MESO and NPYF, said the release.
