SHILLONG: The oath-taking ceremony of Pranoy Kumar Musahary, the chairperson of the Lokayukta Meghalaya, will be held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
Musahary is a retired judge of the Gauhati High Court and chairperson of the Meghalaya State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
According to the Lokayukta Act, the anti-graft panel will have four members, besides the chairperson.
However, the government is yet to nominate the other members.
Sources said for the time being, the chairperson will assume charge which will enable the Lokayukta to start functioning.
The selection committee named Musahary as the chairman of the ombudsman in July after the Supreme Court in April asked several states, including Meghalaya, to complete the process at the earliest.
But Musahary could not assume office because he did not take oath.
