UDP candidate confident of winning Council election in Mawkyrwat

Mawkyrwat: United Democratic Party (UDP), Mawkyrwat Circle President and candidate for the upcoming KHADC election Anvil Lyngdoh has expressed his confidence on winning the 2019 District Council election.
He also informed that many leaders of other political parties will soon join the party as well.
“I would like to inform all supporters that we are contesting the election not just because the party has nominated a candidate, but our fight is to win,” Lyngdoh said, adding that during the 2014 MDC elections, the UDP had emerged as the clear winner with 9408 votes while Congress came in second place with 6730 votes.
Lyngdoh also informed that the office of the UDP Mawkyrwat Circle in Mawkyrwat will be inaugurated on November 8. President of UDP South West Khasi Hills GG Bung Snaitang and Secretary Hapbok Lyngkhoi will attend the programme along with other dignitaries.
“There will also be an enrolment of new members who are leaders of others political parties and a small felicitation programme will be held,” Lyngdoh said.
Lyngdoh also expressed his gratitude to all members of the Mawkyrwat Circle Election Committee including chairman Hapbok Lyngkhoi, secretary Synshar Lyngkhoi, members of the District Election Committee, GG Bung Snaitang, Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein and all members of the State Election Committee who had approved his name as a party candidate for the upcoming election.
